Do You Prospect Everyday In Your Network Marketing Biz??
After having a pretty funny conversation with a new prospect last night, I decided to dig up a oldy but goody;) As I was prospecting yesterday I had a gentleman asked me (after he opted into my page) did I actually prospect daily. When I proceeded to tell him yes, absolutely, I do it every day, he said… “no way, I would never prospect every single day.” Well, as the conversation progressed, I asked him how much money did he want to make. He proceeded to tell me $15k per month in the next 90 days and the most he had ever made at his job was $4k in 1 month. However, previously he said that he wouldn’t prospect everyday, not do manual labor like he’s doing now, but wants to make $15k per month in the next 90 days.
What’s Wrong With This Picture?
Most people get into this industry looking for a lottery ticket. Network Marketing isn’t a lottery ticket but a true industry where you can make a above average income granted you put in the work!! When you think about prospecting, I want you to start thinking about joy. Start thinking about the wonderful things that come after prospecting… new reps, big checks, trips, recognition, etc. Now obviously, everyone has their own number that they are trying to reach in their business. However, when you say $15k per month in the next 90 days, you’re going to be prospecting your butt off every single day. In order to get something that you have never gotten before, you must do something you have never done before. Think about why you are doing this business. Prospecting is the life-blood to your network marketing business so avoiding it is truly financial suicide.
The Love Of The Game Involves The Love Of Prospecting…
If you want to make alot of money in network marketing, you have to become a great prospector. The phone has got to be your friend and you must understand that is where you make your money. I tend to call it, “Prospecting Sex” on my calls from time to time. Now, don’t think to vulgur there, I call it that because I like it;) You see, when you enjoy something you want to do it all the time, now don’t you? Changing your mindset about prospecting will do wonders in your business. Look at any of the great networkers out there and they are all great prospectors… Todd Falcone, David Wood, Susan Sly, Ken Dunn, Toby Black, Layla Staats, Kenny Gregg, Jeffery Combs, Trasy Rincan, Mia Davies, Necola Jackson, Nicole Cooper, and the list goes on and on;) There isn’t enough room on this blog for all the greats… What’s the 1 thing that you see that’s in common with all of these great prospectors? Exactly,they love prospecting, so everyday, get on the phone and enjoy prospecting.
But Cedrick, I Hate Prospecting!!
Most people hate prospecting simply because they are addicted to the outcome. What I mean is that they are so addicted to the fact someone is going so say no that they are afraid to prospect. Just think, if you knew everyone would say yes to your business, you would tell everyone right? Exactly, so play that same game in your head and act like everyone is going to say yes. Your confidence in your business will glow the more you are in the game. Assuming someone is interested in your business is an influence trigger that can be used repeatedly. The beginning is going to start by being in the game daily. You’re going to need to get into a daily habit of prospecting atleast 2 hours per day if you want to be full-time in this industry. If your’e part-time, commit to atleast 1 hour per day, or 5 hours per week. In the upcoming days and weeks, I will be giving you some serious nuggets on prospecting that you can use immediately to get some massive results.
